As the project manager, I was responsible for a cross-discipline team tasked with improving the ways services are offered to City of Austin residents and visitors. I bridged space between technology and bureaucracy, and made sure the impact of this type of work was understood by the right people at the right time. I refined our stakeholder management and ensured the team had the resources—including time—to accomplish this aggressive goal. 

Deliverables included:

  • Implementing a human-centered approach to services

  • Updated, accessible designs and informational architecture

  • Innovative, scalable language translation and implementation

Reimagining Public Safety Task Force

As the co-chair and project manager, I lead a team responsible for co-creating a framework to reimagine public safety in Austin, TX. Together we developed recommendations for policy, cultural and structural changes to improve the quality of the public safety experience for all communities. I ensured community engagement played a large part in informing the work. We held listening sessions with more than 150 people participating, accessible in the following languages: Arabic, Burmese, English, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.

Deliverables included:

  • A comprehensive set of public safety reform recommendations

  • Guiding values for future work

  • Repeatable processes for established and emerging community leaders
